A: Yes, Metropolitan Community Church of Greater Saint Louis formed as a church over 38 years ago. We are part of the denomination of Metropolitan Community Churches. We are a Christ-centered church with a specific ministry to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered communities.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Appropriate dress for all our worship services is casual. There will be a wide variety of dress displayed by our congregants ranging from business casual to casual.
Q: How long does service last?
A: Our worship services last approximately 75 minutes. Our regular worship services include prayers, music, a sermon, communion, and scripture readings.
Q: Do I have to belong to the MCC or Metropolitan Community Church of Greater Saint Louis in order to attend services?
No. We welcome people from all religious backgrounds as well as those who do not have one. All our ministries are open to anyone who is interested in participating.
Q: What if I am not a Christian?
A: Our church is a Christ-centered church. However, we respect every person's right to formulate and practice faith in many different forms. We like to say, "Come as you are, believing as you do."
Q: Can straight people go to MCC?
A: Certainly! Metropolitan Community Church of Greater Saint Louis, as are all Metropolitan Community Churches throughout the world, is an inclusive church. We welcome all people regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, physical or mental ability, language, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
Q: Is there food available?
A: Yes, we serve light refreshments - coffee and water are available.
Q: Is your building accessible?
A: Yes. The 7th street side of the building is accessible to all with designated parking spaces at the front of the building. We believe that we are all on level ground here at Metropolitan Community Church of Greater Saint Louis . We also offer American Sign Language at each service.
