Pastor Eli Anthony, Outward Pastor and Ministry Support Coordinator
Pastor Eli Anthony grew up in Southwest Florida. He was raised Catholic until he discovered the Baptist Collegiate Fellowship during his time at Stetson University in Deland, Florida. The open table and the simple message of Love God, Love People is what drew him into a new worshiping community. It was during this time Eli’s call to pastoral ministry grew.
In 2019, he moved to Boston to begin his studies at Boston University School of Theology to obtain his Master of Divinity. He has worked in a variety of church settings including working with the unhoused in Boston, helping to facilitate worship services on the Boston Commons; in a church plant whose vision was to reimagine church spaces and make worship accessible to those whose traditional church models didn’t work; and as a chaplain for elders with Alzheimers and Dementia.
Eli is currently in the process to be ordained in the Metropolitan Community Church after discovering the MCC in 2021. He is so grateful to be on staff at MCCGSL as the Outward Pastor and Ministry Support Coordinator. He is looking forward to visioning with others and creating meaningful spaces for people to come together and continue to make meaning together, in traditional and nontraditional ways.
