Queering Racial Justice

Enough is enough and has been enough for a long time.

Milwaukee 53206 chronicles the lives of those living in the ZIP code that incarcerates the highest percentage of black men in America, up to 62%. Through the intimate stories of three 53206 residents, we witness the high toll that mass incarceration takes on individuals and families that make up the community.

Discussing the themes surrounding policing, mass incarceration, and racism, we will explore why it is essential that queer people get involved in reform and anti-racist work. Our talk-back feature a panel discussion of young, queer folx around the St. Louis area who can contextualize the work we have locally. The week before the talk-back, you will receive an email with a link to the 53206 documentary for your to watch which will be used as the basis for the discussion. Register below to get the documentary invitation and to join the discussion.
