Every single day we are bombarded with bad news. Natural disasters, mass killings, racial violence, public hatred, and much more crowd our senses and challenge our soul. It is little wonder that people speak of “checking out,” “numbing out,” or just simply “shutting down.” Still, as people of faith, we are called to stay awake through it all. We are challenged to trust God even when we are overwhelmed by complicated emotions. We are invited to notice carefully how we feel, how we act and how we react so that we can be a force for good and not for evil.
In order to be awake—to know ourselves, our world and our God deeply—we must take a moment to pause, settle, breathe, and consider where the Spirit lives in the midst of all these complex experiences.
This January, we will come together in homes and coffee shops to strengthen our spiritual lives and our bonds to each other. Follow the link below for the schedule of Spiritual Location Gatherings coming in January!
